Talk on the price of not taking action

09 May, 2026

Public conversation in situ

The price of not taking action
May 9, 10.30 – 11.30

With the introduction by Edit Schlaffer, founder of Women Without Borders

Opening the discussion, Edit Schlaffer, founder of Women without Borders, offers a perspective shaped by her work in contexts of crisis and transition, where navigating uncertainty becomes both a necessity and a form of agency. Her reflections also extend into public discourse, including contributions to conversations and podcast formats on Spotify, where she addresses themes of resilience, prevention, and the role of families and communities in responding to extremism and social instability.

Artists, curators, and collaborators involved in CILIA and EXUVIAE reflect on risk, responsibility, and the pressure to avoid failure across artistic, social, and political contexts. Read more

From this starting point, artist Léa Dumayet, glass artisan Luna Darin, and curators Anna Shpilko and Elisabeth de Brabant will engage in a dialogue around artistic process and collaboration. The conversation explores how initial ideas take shape through practice, and what it means to work collectively under pressure while resisting a fear-driven approach.

Moderated by Anna Shpilko and Elisabeth de Brabant, the discussion invites participants to consider what it means to act in conditions of uncertainty—and what is at stake when action is delayed.
